Name: Maia
Birthday:
August 23
Sign:
Virgo/Tiger
Eyes: Blue
Height: 5’4
Birthplace: Oklahoma
Current Location:
Arizona
Occupation:
Special Education Teacher
Things I Like:
Star Wars, idols, magical girls, Disney Princesses, teen and lady superheros, sewing, dogs and cats, and COSPLAY!

My first venture into geekdom would have to be Star Wars, first the movies and then expanded universe.  Then, my best friend introduced me to Sailor Moon in eighth grade. When anime on TV wasn’t enough, we scouted the video store, comic shops, and even fansubs online! We attended our first convention in 2003, Anime Expo! I started simple with a maid outfit and closet cosplay, but I have grown in this hobby and now have attended over 50 conventions and have over 75 costumes. I live in a quiet town in Arizona with my husband, Sam, and my dachshund/Jack Russell mix, Churro. By day, I’m a special education teacher, and on the weekends and summers I pump out costumes and attend cons. On and off, I do cosplay panels, perform for various groups, and compete in masquerades. I’ve met nearly all my friends through conventions or cosplay, and don’t know where I’d be without this hobby!
